Sinfonia of Cambridge

Founded in 1980, the Sinfonia of Cambridge is one of the leading orchestras of the region. The orchestra's members are largely Cambridge or East Anglia based qualified musicians, teachers, and gifted amateurs.

"Under the baton of Russell Keable, the Sinfonia played liked a smooth BMW - all sonorous sound but with the power to blow your socks off" (from review of October 2007 concert, Mike Levy, Cambridge Local Secrets)

"...this was an astonishingly good concert. The Sinfonia under its youthful conductor (only 22) Graham Ross, kicked off 2008's season with an immensely challenging programme ... a gritty and overpowering experience.  Ross brought the very best from this fine orchestra... [who] brought this wonderful symphony to a towering climax which had its audience exhausted.  So too were the members of the band who beamed at each other and knew they had pulled off something rather special." (from review of January 2008 concert, Mike Levy, Cambridge Local Secrets)
